Softlayer Dallas: The Original SoftLayer Experience The SoftLayer Dallas datacenter is a Tier IV datacenter facility located inside the well known INFOMART telecom hotel near downtown Dallas. Specializing in datacenter and hosting facilities, INFOMART is home to multiple datacenters including MCI, Level 3, Equinix, Verio, Switch & Data, Verizon, DataSides, and more. The building sits atop three redundant electrical grids from TXU delivering diverse power to each quadrant of the building. HVAC needs are supplied via five one hundred ton onsite water chillers to deliver N+1 cooling requirements. Electronic security systems control data center access and are accompanied by a full compliment of motion detecting security cameras which monitor the entire facility. Their DataCenter facility external walls are reinforced poured concrete. They are a fully managed facility, which means they have level 3 technicians on site 24 hours per day, allowing incident response times to be kept to a minimum.

Their power systems feature extensive fault tolerance and resilience at every layer. Incoming service is routed underground to a dedicated on-site transformer. This system routes to Their automatic transfer switch which monitors power quality, and automatically transfers to Their emergency generators in the event they are needed. Each facility is also protected by one or more Uninteruptable Power Supplies (UPS), featuring redundant battery cabinets and full maintenance bypass cabinets allowing for service and upgrades without interruption of power to Their servers.
